God Is Still Good

God is still good, yes He is.

In Psalm 23, King David writes in verse 4- “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me”.

I love how King David is sure where his hope lies.

Though he walks through suffering, his faith still carries him.

I, too, have been carried with verse 4.

As illness ran through our home, I prayed over our season, and Psalm 23 kept coming to mind.

And specifically, verse 4.

The Bible teaches us that our suffering is not in vain and that difficult seasons have a purpose.

And even though I suffer and sickness is hard, God is still good.

He has been carrying me even when I felt too helpless to move. Or when I felt so overwhelmed and discouraged.

Psalm 23:4 reminds me that I do not have to fear because God shields me completely in His everlasting presence.

With Jesus as our shepherd, there is nothing we will ever lack.

Friend, there is a season for laughing and crying, a season of joy and grief, and a season of sunshine and rain.

But, regardless of the season, you’re facing, God is still with you and He is still good.

He still comforts you with His rod and staff, like the good shepherd He is.

We do not need to fear but praise the One who leads us in righteousness and covers us with His goodness and mercy.

I hope today you find encouragement and solace in His presence and praise Him for His unfailing love every day.
